Food Valley Netherlands คือ องค์กรอิสระที่ไม่แสวงหาผลกำไรเพื่อการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมเกษตรแปรรูปและอาหารแบบครบวงจร ก่อตั้งโดยรัฐบาลเนเธอร์แลนด์ ในปี พ.ศ. 2540 เพื่อพัฒนาและยกขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมอาหาร ผ่านการสร้างเครือข่ายและความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาคธุรกิจ สถาบันวิจัยและสถาบันการศึกษาต่างๆ เพื่อผลักดันให้ความรู้และเผยแพร่ผลงานเชิงวิชาการ โดยการพัฒนาและต่อยอดให้เป็นรูปธรรมจนสามารถผลักดันไปสู่เชิงพาณิชย์ได้
จุดเริ่มต้นของ Food Valley Netherlands อยู่ที่เมือง Wageningen ซึ่งเป็นเมืองที่รายล้อมไปด้วยแหล่งวัตถุดิบทางการเกษตรและเป็นที่ตั้งของบริษัทอาหารชั้นนำจากทั่วโลก รวมถึงศูนย์วิจัยและสถาบันการศึกษาจำนวนมาก นอกจากนี้ ยังเป็นที่ตั้งของบริษัทที่ผลิตเครื่องจักรสำหรับใช้ในอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตและแปรรูปอาหาร ซึ่งองค์ประกอบเหล่านี้เป็นส่วนสำคัญในกระบวนการห่วงโซ่ของการผลิตอาหารทั้งสิ้น โดย Food Valley แห่งนี้ ยังมุ่งเน้นการวิจัยและพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ตั้งแต่ต้นน้ำจนถึงปลายน้ำ เพื่อพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์อาหารให้มีความเหมาะสมสำหรับผู้บริโภคเฉพาะกลุ่ม โดยในปัจจุบันนี้ ทาง Food Valley มีแนวคิดที่จะนำองค์ความรู้ไปเผยแพร่ เพื่อพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมอาหารทั่วโลกสู่การเป็นอุตสาหกรรมอาหารแห่งอนาคตและสามารถเอาชนะความท้าทายด้านความมั่นคงอาหารในปี พ.ศ. 2593 ได้
เมื่อเร็วๆ นี้ ทางสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ ร่วมกับ บริษัท วีเอ็นยู เอเชีย แปซิฟิค ได้จัดงาน Global FoodTure Mission Thailand 2023 ภายใต้หัวข้อ “หุบเขาแห่งอาหารเนเธอร์แลนด์ สู่ภารกิจการสร้างระบบอาหารโลกที่ยั่งยืนของประเทศไทย: ความร่วมมือระดับโลกด้านระบบอาหาร (From Food Valley,The Netherlands, to Global FoodTure Mission, Thailand: Global Collaboration on Food System)” โดยได้มีการนำเสนอนวัตกรรมหรือเทคโนโลยีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความยั่งยืนทางด้านอาหารที่น่าสนใจจากสตาร์ทอัปและบริษัทขนาดเล็ก (SMEs) จากต่างประเทศ โดยมีตัวอย่างบริษัทที่น่าสนใจต่างๆ

Food Valley Netherlands is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the development of the integrated agro-processing and food industries. It was established by the Dutch government in 1997 to develop and enhance the competitiveness of the food industry through the creation of networks and connections between government agencies, business sectors, research institutes, and educational institutions. Through acquiring, expanding, and disseminating knowledge, Food Valley Netherlands actively promotes the transformation of research findings into tangible outcomes, ultimately leading to commercialization.
Food Valley Netherlands originated in Wageningen, a city encompassed by abundant agricultural resources and renowned global food enterprises, as well as numerous research centers and educational institutions. Notably, it is also situated in close proximity to a company specializing in the production of machinery utilized in the food manufacturing and processing sector. These interconnected components play an essential role in the entirety of the food production chain, forming a crucial foundation for the industry’s operations. The organization also focuses on the research and development of food products, spanning from the initial stages to final distribution, with a particular emphasis on creating products suitable for specific consumer groups. Currently, Food Valley Netherlands also holds a vision of sharing knowledge to foster the evolution of the global food industry into a future-ready sector, approaching the upcoming challenges of food security by the year 2050.
Recently, the Royal Thai Embassy in the Netherlands, in collaboration with VNU Asia Pacific, hosted the Global FoodTure Mission Thailand 2023 event. The mission revolved around the theme “From Food Valley, The Netherlands, to Global FoodTure Mission, Thailand: Global Collaboration on the Food System.” During the event, start-ups and small companies (SMEs) from various countries showcased fascinating innovations and technologies pertaining to food sustainability.
