Asia a Giant Beverage Market
Asia recorded the highest beverage consumption with the
amount of 836,912 million litre in 2013 increased by 6.2%
Alcohol Consumption Worldwide
Worldwide, adults consume on average 5 litres of pure
alcohol from beer, wine and spirits per year. The average
alcohol consumption is highest in Europe, followed by the
Americas and byAfrica and the Western Pacific regions,
while the South-East Asian and Eastern Mediterranean
regions show the lowest level of consumption.
China Drinks a Lot
China is the most soft drink consumption country including
alcoholic beverages and hot drinks (hot tea and coffee excluded)
among other countries inAsia with the amount of 356,173 million
litre in 2013 followed by India, Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan, and
Thailand.
