Cambodian economy grew at modest 6.1 percent in
2011 while the accelerating inflation rate reached 5.5
percent regarding the cost of food as well as energy
dependence on imports from abroad. However, the
relatively low wage is a factor that continually attracts
foreign investment in Cambodia. In addition, Cambodia
has targeted economic development and raises the
average Cambodian income to exceed 1,000 USD per
person per year by 2013, with emphasis on agricultural
development, supporting of industries and supporting of
the export sectors. Cambodian borderline connects
with the three countries: Thailand, Vietnam, and Lao
PDR while transportation routes are linked to each
other expediently. Moving into the AEC initiated in 2015
will strengthen Cambodia as markets and production
bases in ASEAN. Cambodia also has an abundance of
natural resources in terms of raw materials as well as
historical and natural attractions for supporting
economic roles and generating revenue into the
Cambodian economy as well.
