ภายในประเทศมี ความน าสนใจนอยลง อยางไรก็ ดี กฎหมายภูมิบุ ตร
เริ่ มผอนคลายลงในธุรกิจบางประเภท
Risk Factors
• Although Malaysia is a country in the open economy for a
long time, but she is also found to have some protective barrier
in the industry such as in the automotive industry which does not
allow investors to invest 100% unlike countries such as Thailand.
This is to protect their own national brands. Malaysia also protects
telecommunications that allow foreign investors to hold shares up to
30 percent only. This is to make it unattractive for foreign businesses to
compete with the service of the government or Telekom Malaysia.
• We also see the efforts of the Malaysian government to raise the
income level of residents of Malay descent, also known as “Pumiputra”
by protecting same 30 percent shares to a group of Pumiputra. This
is one obstacle that could cause domestic investment less attractive.
However, the legal landscape of Pumiputra is already relaxed in
certain businesses.
