เชื่อมโยงไปออกทะเลสาบแคสเปยนได ทิ ศใตติดตุรกีและอารเมเนีย จอรเจีย
สามารถขนสงสินคาตอไปยั งยุโรปไดทางทะเลดำผานชองแคบบอสฟอรั สที่กรุง

เปนเครื่องมือในการตอรองระหวางรัสเซียกับสหรัฐอเมริกา และชาติ ตะวันตก

จอรเจียถือเปนรัฐกันชนอีกแหงที่จะสามารถเชื่อมตอไปยังยุโรปตะวันออก
จอรเจียแยกตัวออกมาจากสหภาพโซเวียตชวงหลังสงครามเย็นเมื่ อป 2543
โดยกอนที่จะแยกออกมามี ชื่อวา “สาธารณรัฐสังคมนิ ยมจอร เจีย” แต ก็ยัง

The size of Georgia is close to the southern region of Thailand.
It is located in the South Caucasus region bordering Russia
on the north, the Black Sea to the west and Azerbaijan on the
eastern border with the transportation links to the Caspian Sea. The
southern border of Georgia reaches Turkey andArmenia. Georgia can
transport goods to Europe through the Bosphorus Strait at Istanbul
via the Black Sea out to the Mediterranean. Georgia was a former
republic of the Soviet Union.
Although Georgia is a small country, it is strategically important to
the stability of the region. As a result, there is a scramble to influence
of foreign powers such as Russia, the U.S. and the EU. Georgia also
has a location near Iraq, Iran and Turkey, and is on transportation
route of oil and natural gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC)).
Moreover, the issue of separatist in regions ofAbkhazia, South Ossetia
and Adjara of Georgia is also a factor of negotiation between Russia,
the United States and other Western nations.
Georgia is the buffer state to be connected to Eastern Europe.
Georgia’s secession from the Soviet Union was after the Cold War in
2000. Before separation, it was called “Socialist Republic of Georgia,”
but it had not been approved by any country yet. Therefore, there
were always separatist fights among people of different ethnic groups.
The border cities under the Russian support come in the form of
a minority group against the Georgian government which is being
backed up by Russia.
Georgia has been continuously supported politically and financially
from both the U.S. and the EU continued since Georgia initially gained
independence from the former Soviet Union. This country has also
joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in June 2000. Later in
2007 the World Bank recognized Georgia as the country with the

Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) group of the
Caucasus region to link the EU with the countries of the
former Soviet Union. However, there are several
indicators to make this dream into reality. Thai investors
had better occupy good positions and rush to run
business in Georgia.
