retail entrepreneurial companies to record data such as agricultural
information, and data on cultivation, post-harvest management,
processing and storage, transportation, movement, safety control
systems, and production volume. ACFS has also conducted training
on the agricultural products traceability system for entrepreneurs
and farmer groups in six provinces with potential for outstanding
performance in the production of agricultural products under the
GreenAgriculture City program. These provinces include Chiang Mai,
Nong Kai, Srisaket, Chantaburi, Ratchburi and Pattalung, including
participants from nearby provinces. There have been over 600
participants in the training. Currently, there are 120 applicants who
are interested in theACFS SME Traceability Program throughout the
food supply chain. These include:
• 106 packaging houses in 31 provinces
• One distributor, namely Tops Market Distribution Center
• One modern trade retailer, Tops Market
• Twelve restaurants in six provinces
For the food supply chain traceability system, the ACFS has
developed a 2D barcode technology, known as QR Code, to be used
as a tool that improves the efficiency of the traceability and which
can be communicate information to the consumer directly. This will
build confidence in the consumers about the quality and safety of the
products. Consumers themselves can access the agriculture products
traceability information via a QR code attached to the product by
using their own smart phones; all they need is installing a QR code
