reader programon their smart phones and scanning the QR code
through the program. Once the consumer scans a QR code,
information about the agricultural products will appear on the
consumer’s smart phone display. This allows consumers to know
product information from every step of the food supply chain,
from the farmers to the manufacturers. The traceability system’s
information includes the growing area with GPS coordinates,
applicable standards, rawmaterials used, the production stage,
quality inspections, packing, and shipping.
Linking data for agricultural product traceability throughout the
supply chain will enable farmers to strengthen the development
of their production standards. Producers will be able to trace
the source of a product with a problem. And consumers will
have knowledge, understanding and convenience in choosing
agricultural products that are safe and guaranteed to meet
standards, as well as being able to trace the source of the products by themselves so
that they are confident that the agricultural products are truly safe.
